I really have very little knowledge on microcontollers. I wanted to know if I have an msp430 that some else programmed could I see the code that he wrote with the launchpad and than duplicate it into an another msp430

For any processor, this can be done. But probably the easiest way: why not asking the person
who wrote the program to give it to you?
