Hi, I have a similar problem. My mp3 can't be detected in XP+SP2, and it can't play. When I turn it on it blinks a red light (ocasionally blue or green or orange).

How do you short cut the memory chip? I hope this will solve my problem.

I have an LG White MP3 player (with Samsung S5L841FXG1L and hynix HY27UG084G2M)

If you need the other markings on the chips, pm me ;)

Thanks in advance

An MP3 player with a 1GB memory is available for only $8.00US today.
Throw away one that is scratched or does not work.

hnnix hy27uf08

I had my newer player and as usual I broke it but I manage to made it work twice by just doing some flashing, the shorting of pins wasnt needed. Maybe it will do on yours too. Maybe share the model of the player here and other guys might help.
