I want to make a wood box for my son.. On the outside of the box I'd like to have an old Nintendo controller & you have to enter a certain code/sequence on the controller to unlock the box.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can go about this? I don't even know where to begin with the electronics part.

Any advice, hints, tips & tricks will be helpful! Thanks!!
