[Moved] Decrease speed of DC motor using atmega8 microcontroller

I have a atmega8 microcontroller and L298 ic. i have two dc mini motors. But one of my dc motor is faster than other. I have to decrease the speed of that motor. Please tell me a method in c program to control the speed.
