Hi,

Is there any simple approach to design a counter which may count upto 20 by using standard cell library? I admit the usual approach to draw truth table for 5 digit (FFs) and then using K-map( 10 K-maps to solve). Is there any simple approach for that? Because may be I have to build another counter which needs to count upto 500!

Please help.

Thanks.

Eh? Of course there is. You write RTL and you synthesize it with the appropriate tools. No one would do this by hand, we are not in the 70s anymore!

Maybe the last time the OP worked on this stuff was in the 70's. ;-)
