mosfet short circuit protection
Hello,
Just wondering if I could get some input on protecting a MOSFET using a PIC ( 16F84 ) to Drive the MOSFET and have a feedback loop from the output of the MOSFET then goto another I/O pin and compair the two, as soon as the feedback doesent match the state of the drive pin such as a short... then it shuts down the drive pin...... or does anyone have a low cost method of protecting a MOSFET without using a OCD ( over current detector ) or a fuse that has a fast response time???
