MOSFET connection - any difference in the performance?

MOSFET connection

Hi all,
I have a doubt about the connection between 8 MOSFETs and a 12V Dc motor.! This is a project on the spped control using a microcontroller. I need to know whether there will be any difference in the performance if the Motor is connected to the common drain of the 8 mosfets and the motor being connected to common source of the 8 mosfets. Might even be a stupid question it's just a doubt I am having.
Kindly help me in this regard

Are all the MOSFETs N channel?

Yes all the MOSFETs are N-channel

Parallel connection of mosfets? If so, there will be no problem at all
