between the conical taper part and the flat disk top hat. They are NOT connected. The flat disk is connected to the coax center conductor. The cone shaped piece is connected to the coax ground shield. All withing 0.1" or so of each other. The coax is usually fed up thru the inside of the cone (not visible in your diagrams)

can i feed the antenna in reverse order?
how both parts are connected together?
