I would like to know what will be the method to mixed signal design and layout? We are now using ic5141 and virtuoso for analog design and layout, and we also have IC flow and calibre from mentor graphics. We want to have a new project on digital IC design but we do not know what extra software packages are needed (better from cadence or mentor graphics)? we do not have digital simulator from both companies.

Thank you very much! Where can I access the information? We just want some basic idea so we can purchase the "right" softwares.

We use IC Station from ICFlow for analog blocks and full chip layout design. For digital blocks layout we use AutoCell (the best tools, MG). For digital simulation - ModelSim (vhdl), or QuickSim or QuickSimPro from BoardStation package (MG). For fullchip post layout simulation - MachTa (best tools) or ADiT (anacad package MG).

Thank you! Will it be possible to do digital IC Layout on IC Flow (or software from synopsys) and then export it to Virtuoso for Custom IC design?
