Hello,

This inductor core has a very different minimum area than its effective area.

https://www.ferroxcube.com/prod/assets/rm14ilp.pdf

...which one do i use? minimum or effective.

I use the core area in the calculation to see if it will saturate.....

I(sat) = B.A.N/L

B = flux density
A = core area (the subject of this question)
N = number of turns
L= inductance
