MIMO channel normalzied?

hi,all.
when i read some paper, it says that the MIMO channel is normalized. i do some some simulation as follows:
H = sqrt(1/2)*(randn(n,m)+j*randn(n,m));
H1 = H./sqrt(sum(diag(H'*H)));
i do not know whether is right? can anyone tell me
