circuit and superconductivity

Hi..

I am looking out for the basics of design of microwave circuits like filters, mixers and resonators using High Temperature Superconductors (like YBaCuO3) at 77K. I want to understand the effects of low temperature and superconductivity on the circuit operation and various other details, and how they differ from conventional planar microwave circuits. I would also like to know the fabrication process for such HTS microwave circuits.

Can anybody suggest any good documents/books/web links for this topic?

Also, is there a provision in any of the EM Simulation Tools like HFSS or Ansoft Designer to incorporate High Temperature Superconductor based design?

regards
Ayan

Hi Roy83 -- Download SonnetLite from www.sonnetsoftware.com (I work for Sonnet). It is a 3-D planar shielded EM anlaysis. It has no time-out, but is limited in problem size. Full documentation is included. Pages 81-83 in the User's Manual detail "Kinetic Inductance", which is unique to superconductors.

If you go to the Sonnet web site, click on "Products", then "Sonnet Bibliography", and search for "Super" in the title, the following references describing Sonnet being used for super conducting circuits are listed. There are probably additional references that did not include the word "super" in the title, a check on IEEE Xplore would be a good idea if you want more references. There are also quite a few references for 2005 that are not yet included in the list below. This should be enough reading to keep you busy for a while. Good luck!
