microstrip patch antenna design

i need to design dual resonance microstrip patch antenna.im new in this field.i dont know which shapes antenna are suitable.Before this I try to do stacked antenna.the result also not so good.can anybody give me suggestion which kind of antenna shape can give good result.i also attached my antenna design.i hope anybody can help to review my antenna design.plz.

Hi Alan,

Here is a document "Dual feed dual band L-probe patch antenna".



This is not specific to HFSS. However, figures are very much explained. If you know how to design a simple microstrip antenna with coaxial probe, you can design it very easily.

Take your time to read this document. Try design a coaxial-probe microstip antenna using HFSS (you can find some example in HFSS tutorial). Then design your antenna using L probe feed.

i suggest to go with shorting pin and U-Slot technique.,L-Shaped probe feed.

i have designed a microstrip patch antenna in HFSS.My resonant frequency is 1.5 Ghz.But the problem is that i am not getting the right results.My S parameters are not correct.It should be (-10 db) at 1.5Ghz.Plz tell me how i modify my design to achieve this result.

there is an option of randomize post processing in hfss. it decreases the s11 quite alot
