Hello, I am trying to program an MCU in assembly to generate a square wave. I would like to achieve the maximum generated waveform frequency. The PIC16f84A has an internal prescaler so driving it with a clock of 20MHz generates a much less frequency.
Are there other microcontrollers (PIC prefferred) which operate in greater frequencies?
I have not found a PIC frequency comparison anywhere.
DIP package is a must!
Thank you I have found these on the website, but I have not so technical knowledge to judge which to order. The code is really simple and could be implemented with any micro. It just switches on and off one pin, to achieve maximum frequency square wave output.
I would really appreciate if you could suggest me one that has:
1. at least two output pins (all of them have)
2. at least one or two imput pins (all of them have)
3. maximum clock/mips, for max square wave generating.
4. DIP package
For example the PIC12F1840? what the maximum frequency could be (roughly)?
