hi,
I use NXP P89V51RD2..and programme it using Rx-Tx,Max232,&Flash magic.
and it worked.
but,can i programme Atmel at89s52,Avr8,PIC 18f, using this method.
If yes,how?
If No,Why??????
Plz rlpy,I AM beginner...........................
help plz.........

Flash magic does not support the Controllers that you have listed. each controller has its own programming IDE either and seperate programmers. or you should have UNIVERSAL PROGRAMMER THAT SUPPORTS ALL CONTROLLERS. they are too costle. So you should have different programmer to program PIC, 8051(ATMEL and PHILIPS)

you are using Flash Magic this supports only 8051 and ARM Controllers you are not able to proram even 8052 with this!!! PIC is also not supported by this software you can only program 8051 and ARM!!!

see this link for more detail...

Sorry,i think that u r not understanding my problem..........
I want to know the name of the software..that can programme ATmega8.. just by
Atmel Atmega8's Rx-Tx->MAX232->usb2serial->pc usb......
Just like NXP P89V51RD2.
that's it............
Plz help............

thankx for reply..........
But is avrstudio required any hardware except, only one Pcusb->MAX232->Rx-Tx of ur uc to be programmed ???????????
Plz reply

i.e i want to prog directlly UASRT,not ISP or SPI......

---------- Post added at 13:22 ---------- Previous post was at 13:15 ----------

"ultra low-cost AVR programmer" i check ur Link.........
But i have lapetop ..no serial or parallel port........
only usb,and i have a usb 2 serial............only

"USBasp" work only for ATmega's not for At89s52????????????

Do u know actually why PonyProg not work with "USB2Serial"??????????????????????
is it the fault of language in which ponyprog is written???????????????????

---------- Post added at 13:37 ---------- Previous post was at 13:34 ----------

if the developer of PonyProg redeveloped it using JAVA or Visual C++2010....then it should sloved..........i think

Thank u very much 4 ur reply...............:D

It does not works because there is no real hardware. The pony prog bit bangs the serial port to get desired output. Here in usb to serial port converter we are just emulating the port.

hi "nandhu015 ",
r u use NXP P89V51RD2.....?
if nt read this.........
"The Philips In-System Programming
facility has made in-circuit programming in an embedded application possible with a
minimum of additional expense in components and circuit board area. The ISP
function uses five pins (VDD, VSS, TxD, RxD, and RST). Only a small connector needs
to be available to interface your application to an external circuit in order to use this
feature."
is there any chip like this feature of Atmel...............???????????????

Re: Atmel microcontroller>......................

I think you also need a serial communication driver (MAX232) between any serial microcontroller port and the pc serial

Re: Atmel microcontroller>......................

I can add "Atmega8", "Atmega16", "Atmega32", "Atmega64", "Atmega128"
For myself, I worked with all of them.
