Hi,

I had this question while programming my PIC. The programming operation takes 6 Minute so I asked my self: what If I had 1000 PIC to program ?
Do somebody know how do embedded systems vendors to program microcontrollers ?
Is there any for simulateous (10, 100 or 1000) PIC programming ?

Gang programmers are used to program microcontrollers upto 10 (may be higher)

The manufacturer provides solutions for more than 1000 pcs on request

And some programmers are faster than others. Microchip RealIce is far faster than ICD2 for example.

Sounds like an old programmer. Get a modern programmer or have the PICs factory programmed.

Programming speed depends on several parameters:

- Flashfile size
- Programming interface for example if you use the programming pins or USB
- File transfer method
- etc.

Provide more details about your flashing system.
