sonar transducer model schematic

I understand that sonar is an indirect measurement tool timing sound wave echos and calculating distance. What I need is a schematic that describes the internal workings of how the ping is produced and recorded inside the transducer mechanically. Can anyone direct me to information on the internal workings of a sonar depth transducer?

The transducer doesn't record anything. The transducer simply converts electrical energy into sound. Perhaps a google search for "underwater sonar schematic" will be beneficial.
