Hi,

I need to measure the radar signal power (before the antenna).
The signal is ku band with 180MHz BW.
What is the best way to measure the power of the tx power of the radar?

Is it pulse or FMCW radar?

Thank you!
This don't contains any practical settings for the measurement equipment.

Why not choose a DC20 or DC30 with an AM detector?
  • Microstrip Coupler: Suitable for PCB-based designs, compact, and widely used.
  • Waveguide Coupler: High power handling and low loss, ideal for Ku-band but bulkier.
  • Coaxial Coupler: Easy to integrate, commercially available options are abundant.

You will probably need to limit power with a suitable attenuator for the expensive instruments.

I presume to want to measure peak power and duty cycle with a pad on spectrum analyzers and convert to avg power to compare with RMS power meter.
A DC-30 can do both simultaneously after it is calibrated.
