max3421E need any driver ?

hi, i m starting to work on usb interfrace. i m using max3421E and PIC18F4550 to access a USB flash stick and to read data from this. i need to know that can max3421E do this or any need any other driver type device to access USB flash stick ?

the Max3421 will handle the physical protocol, and it's up to your code to satisfy the logical end of things. I've had good success with the max3421 as host controller, running the still image protocol.

And may I have a question how the still image protocol works?? Can it work with UVC webcam??
