matlab rs232

Has anybody tried to connect PIC to MATLAB.I want to see the integer value on the MATLAB scope.I send it in "12345"like decimal format.How can i catch this values from MATLAB?

I have a senior project this year .. and i will have to do this by MAtlab ..
so when i finish it .. i will tell u as soon as possible
