Is there any chance of only MAC address getting erased or corrupted once the flash is programed with MAC address. If so, what could be the reason and solution ?

MAC address is permanently burned on to the NIC. The area of the memory where the MAC address is stored is most likely,to be a non erasable, non volatile read only type.It is unlikely that it will have the feature to get reprogrammed as you are suggesting.
