hi,

i need the implementation of LZ77/78 algorithm on FPGA with VHDL Language.

thanks,

For IP shopping lists you are better off trying on opencores.org, maybe there's something you can use. And that "better off" is purely a relative measure.

And what's so awesome about opencores:

that opencores project page said:
Created: Jun 14, 2005
Updated: Dec 20, 2009
...
Development status: Alpha

But hey, at least it's not pre-alpha. XD

Heheh, fair enough. I guess my beef with opencores isn't so much the monetary cost, because as you point out it's free. :) Buuuut so far whenever I needed some functionality, and there was something that was a close enough match to try it ... invariably it sucked pretty bad. But hey, it was free, so I cannot complain to the author. :p All I can do is learn that for the stuff I need opencores is not the location to find solutions. :p

Ive never used anything off opencores mainly for its reputation for poor code and incomplete designs, with uncontactable authors. But when you work for a company you have the luxury of buying a core from a company via a contract, so there is some come back if it doesnt work.
