Hi friends,
for my application I need to control 5 motors each with an independent PWM.
Can someone suggest a microprocessor with at least 5 PWM outputs + USART + ADC ?
thx
proton

Philips XAS3.

Cheap, but needs external prog. memory
(OTP version is useless).

how many mips is that xas3?

Is it better to use pwm or D/A converter to control the motor?

In my oppinion you can use SX family CPU from Sc*enix (w*w.ubicom.com) 100MIPS, and with virtual ph*eripherial you could implement all you wish!... and is cheap...

Hi,

Depending of the "horse power (mips)" you need you could use PIC or Sc*enix and use software PWM (or use the channels implemented in the chips and ports + software PWM for the others). Depending of the power you need to drive the motors you can use hybrid H bridge IC that simplify your harware design.

yap and for high power I recommand IGBT/IGBT bridge...

thx, but I don't know if software PWM's
will work. Pic have 2 PWMs, so I should
implement other 3. Should I use interrupt
timers ? So I need 3 timers .... Don't know.
suggestions ?
I've to drive 3A DC motors, so I was thinking
to H-bridge IC like allegro 3959.
IGBT works only for AC motors ? or not ?
thx
proton
BTW, someone knows tutorial on motor driving ?

Hi,

I don't think that you need to use a timer for each PWM output.
If you need some example of PWM for PIC of code in C or asm let me know.

hc

well, yes, definitively.
I use CCS C compiler for pics, so if
you have examples in C they would be really
appreciated
thx

IGBT workz in DC as transistor... you can compare this device as an mos at the input an bipolar to the output...
cool isn't it?
best,

Hi proton,

In the file manager in the directory hot_chmock you will find a collection of PWM in C and asm for PIC.
I hope this help ...

hc

thx hot_chmock ... very interesting code
and docs ...

USE A BASIC STAMP 2 or also use a stamp streacher chip to give you more i/o each i/o on chip can support 1 streacher

and a streacher gives 15 i/o s more

so it is cheep and cheeper if you buy the kit for the stamp in bits and build it

and more fun

you can find stamps at your local emporium or

via **broken link removed**

these chips are incredibly easy to use

and work via there own ide or infact any ide that supports stamp

inc microcode studio and codedesigner

both avalible in filemanager

i hope this helps

There is only one good chance, H82128F by Hitachi
(12 independent PWM modulators)

Hi,
I can't find any doc about hitachi part
h82128, someone is smarter than me ?
thx
proton

I think too Hitachi H8S is the best solution.
My main uC is H8S2144 .

The part is h8S2128 (look others)

Look at: **broken link removed**

I have H8x HEW and HDI with crack.

good luck.

Where is the crack for HEW and HDI?

Pissant: I have Hew and HDI for hitachi H8x in a cd with some tools like rtos, flash programming tools, docs.... etc.

PM me a ftp site with around 100Mb of free space.

hwswboy: Hi,can you upload in filemanager
rtos and it's manual? Thanks
Stark
