Re: BEGINEER RTOS

Hi

I suggest .U can start with ucos-ii.
It has comeup with good documentration and sourcecode

U can get the book "Real Time Kernal UC-OS-ii"

I personally feel its excellent premptive OS

Re: BEGINEER RTOS

umm well RTOS is kinda easy to understand when it comes to the basic concepts..

i sure recommend a book by the name "Embedded Systems-Architecture, Design and Programming" by RAJ Kamal its Tata McGraw-Hill publication.

Take a look at this

Re: BEGINEER RTOS

Anyone familiar with Wind River? What is special about Wind River and what type of hardware does it support?

Re: BEGINEER RTOS

experienced guys can you tell minimum footprint of OS for microcontrollers you can achieve (ROM for code, and RAM)?

Re: BEGINEER RTOS

i did look through this site.. downloaded some source codes but never really burnt to any chip....

usually, if using microC-OSII, say, we need only multitasking, what's the minimum RAM?

Re: BEGINEER RTOS

If i am not wrong the size will depend upon the basic requirement...
If i am wrong let me know
tq

Re: BEGINEER RTOS

yeh, basic requirement is multitasking only; i intend to port (microC-OS/II if possible) (or may write from scratch) for my microcontroller (32K ROM, 1K RAM only)....

so, if you experience in this matter, can tell me the least required footprint..
