Looking for schematics for LED color matrix display

i am trying to build a full color led display for a university project. can any one help with schematics or a place to start. I need any details you can give me

It's an 8x8 Red/Green display. Movies would be stretching it.

PS let me save you some grief. If this is your University project and you don't have the slightest idea on how to build it and you expect it to display a movie you should probably pick another project for your thesis.

Your best bet is to buy an LCD display like those used in cell phones with an SPI or I2C interface and attempt to use that. Expect 4-6 months if you know what you're doing. If you've never used a microcontroller before, understand video codecs (assuming it's an existing video in MPEG or AVI format) or I2C/SPI you'll probably run out of time before you complete your University term.
