well there is an SPI tutorial at the microchip website. i dont remember the link. just go to microchip's website and search for it

You can find a reference design on Xilinx web, which resides in coolrunner cpld dir. look for it carefully.

Motorola introduced SPI.
With nationals documentation microwire may be found.

Microwire and SPI are same. Can search for either of these keywords
