Looking for information on Data Networks and NS2

Well I have been doing a course on Data Networks as a part of our academic Curriculum,but the prof has made a mess of the whole subject,Also I donot have any knowledge about NS2,Can somebody give me tips.

I referred them earlier,I am looking for some sites from where I can get some material related to simulation of protocols at Network and Data link layer.
