Looking for info about a 4 wire resistive touch screen

I want to interface touch screen in my application. Now i read about 4 wire resistive touch screen, i do not know how its work and how can i interface with microcontroller.
kindly help me to know its working procedure and interfacing with microcontroller.

Also there is a nice article published in Elektor electronic magazine (last year) regarding the use of touch screen and how to use them

Hi there,


Generally there is a touchscreen controller of some form. A simple controller can be seen below:

With this you will get analogue values depending where you touch the screen.

Of course you can get dedicated 4-wire resistive touch screen IC's which may or may not even give you a coordinate via I2C or SPI ect...
