Who can give me some diagram for a shaper gaussian shaper amplifier.
With Google, I can find a lot of custom made high perf. ICs ( CERN.... ) or bloc diagram, but noting else. I need a discrete or OPAmp based diagram.
Thanks

gaussian

You could make a gaussian low pass filter (acitve or passive) and then a broad band amplifier. The unique feature of the gaussian mathematical function is that the impulse response is the same gaussan shape as the frequency response.

For a few poles, the Thompson/Bessel or flat delay filter is so close to the gaussian that your part tolerances will make a larger error.

The real difference is that the gaussian approximates the amplitude function. The Thompson is maxiamlly flat delay at DC just like the Butterworth is maximally flat amplitude at DC.

www.aaed.com makes a program with 20 free trial uses that does Gaussian shapes as well.

So does filter solutions 9 from **broken link removed**
