capacitor layout example

Hi....

I'm looking for examples of analog layout. More specifically, on-chip inductor (LC oscillator would be better  ).

Where can I find those ones?, Do you know where they are inside Mentor IC examples?

Thanks.

Re: Finding Layout Examples

I want to know too.
Are there any methods to import the inductor layout produced by Asitic to Cadence ?

Besides that, how to layout capacitors ?
Does it exist any tools like Asitic for capacitor layout ? Thanks a lot.

Re: Finding Layout Examples

Usually, the foundry provides the Pcell of the capacitor and inductor(if u r finding an example, they'll be a good one). In this case, all you have to do is to change the parameters.

OR you just follow the design rules from the foundry, and make ur own layout.

Rgs.

what is pcell ? thanks

Re: Finding Layout Examples

Hi]

It advice to get pcell for inductor layout from foundry because you need inductor which fabricated tested for particular freqeuncy of interest.

Re: Finding Layout Examples

Please find the IEEE paper, you will find many kind of inductor.
For cap., it depond on what kind of cap you need.
There are poly-poly, metal, mos cap and etc.
And the book of "the art of analog layout" will tech you more

Re: Finding Layout Examples

if u r starting layout design i recommend to use microwind
