Well... I think Starting Microelectronics by any book other than Microelectronics by Sedra/Smith 5th Edition for anyone who wishes to continue his study in this field is a big blunder!

"The Art of Electronics" by Horowitz and Hill. ISBN 0-521-37095-7 (2nd edition)
