You could see the book: The Design of Low Noise Oscillators. The publisher is Kluwer Academic Publishers.
This book discusses the CMOS VCO in so detail. I hope this book will help you.

I am sorry to tell you that I don't have the soft-copy of this book. Moreover, this book concentrated on the CMOS VCO. Is not a CRO one you mention.
