Well, I dont have the code, but what the problem in write one spi code for interface with these ic´s? In old times, I´ve design one solution with ADE7753 and one PIC16F628 microcontroller!
I think for Yours, use one microcontroller with spi integrated...is best solution and make the firmware work easy!

I just need to measyre active energy.
I want to accumulate kwh only.
Should I be reading the registers or read CF? I am not sure.
Is there any high level routine or flow that I can use to develop my code.
