Flash memory?

Salam,

Please can you suggest very cheap flash memory > 1MB for store a data that is continously updated ?

My project need a memory with high endurance and big space > 1MB.
Is the flash memory type is ok or .....?

Thanks very much

Re: Flash memory?

How often is "continuously"?

Writing to FLASH is pretty quick, but erasing isn't (relatively speaking).
And furthermore, you need to erase an entire sector (maybe 4 KB) if
you are going to change even just one bit in it.

Using FLASH is never simple because it takes careful consideration of so
many things that can go wrong - e.g. what happens to your data if there is
a brown-out in the middle of a erase/write cycle? Was the data saved or not?
And so on...

It all depends on your specific application so I cannot give you an easy answer, sorry.

Have a glance to Maxim and Ti NVSRAM products : DS1254 from maxim, BQ40xxYMA from ti ( unitrode products ) etc...

Flash memory?

Salam,

For example store game data.
The uC processor needs access to this memory a lot of time .
Is the flash memory is suitable ?

Flash memory?

If its lots like once a second , then you will probably wear out the flash.

Maybe look at FRAM or store in Ram , and then move from Ram to flash , when powerdown/powerloss.
