i am doing the long range infrared led emitter and phototransistor circuit.
but i am found some difficulties in searching the long range emitter and phototransistor.
and i need to interface with PIC.
how i can overcome this problem?anyone can help me on the circuit design and the suitable PIC i can use in this project??

long range: 10 cm? 2 parsecs? give us a hint...

If you are just trying to determine when the beam is broken, then any PIC will do the job. You don't even tell us WHAT the PIC is supposed to do once it detects an event.

the range should be 7 meters and the PIC need to determine if any distraction between the ir led emitter and phototransistor and its will display the result in the lcd display.any idea on it?gt any specified circuit that can do the job?
