What makes Linux OS unsuitable for hard real-time ?
Elaborate answers please...

Linux is the free os while comparing to other..we can make modification and can implement our own library files..Linux has all features like other operating system it l support for real time systems..
 

Its not good idea to use Linux as RT OS.....

Not all linux variant free, there is version for which you must to pay. But in comparison to MS OS its much much cheaper as OS platform, and offer lots of free programs.
