Is there any free analog layout tool to download from the web.
This is only for the practice of layout drawing.

I know of two of them: Magic and Electric. Both deviate quite a bit from the mainstream CAD.

Hi,

Visist Berkeley site. There is MAX along with SUE for schematics. MAX is a little bit advanced version than Magic.

It seems some tools like dolphin is free to provide layout viewing.

Oh, one more free Windows layout editor -LASIC. Pretty unusual DOS-like user interface.

Free tools are good to use, but if you really want to use for your project or professional point of use, try to invest your time learning some industry standard tools. Like Cadence Virtuoso..

So its worth learning a tool..

You have right ....but for a student is hard to buy a license for a proffesional tool.
I think for a beginer is good to start with microwind , then magic, electric...or other small and free tools.... about lasi ..I use this tool in 2001 year and on that time it was a little hard to use lasi....he's not a frendly tool for a beginer.
now I work with Ledit and Cadence tools and from this two I think Ledit is more frendly and easy to use

magic is a best tool for learning process
for doing big layouts i prefer L-Edit
