Hi all

Can we use a library footprint of Protel99 to Protel DXP2004?

Can you explain the exact procedure

Procedure to open 99SE file in DXP2004 ?

Sure, no problem mate,

1. Assume that the P99SE libs have been exported from their DDB container and exist as .lib files

Start DXP2004
File,
Open,
Select PCB libray [*.pcblib; *.lib] from Files of Type drop down list
Browse to your 99SE library file for example c:\mylib.lib
Select and click open

Thats it, save as V5 file when finished editing

2. Assume that the P99SE library is a DDB container

Start DXP2004
File,
Open,
Browse to the .DDB file which has the libraries in it
Select and click open
You will be asked to confirm Export of DDB contents to projects
Click Yes
In the project panel your Libraries will exist in the project tree
Click to open libraries and "Save As" to move outside the project

Thats it, save as V5 file when finished editing

Enjoy
