led message disp from John Becker EPE mag 2006/11

I use this projects but I need help with this: I need communicate with led pic board with hiper terminal not with visual basic software from John Becker (this software is not good, to meny run time errors), can anybody send me info how to configure hiper terminal to use this projects,
