Hi All,

I am designing the Circuit board for the JDM Advanced Programmer by Fragrance using Cadsoft eagle software. I have plugged the schematic in and have created the board in the eagle software however I get the following ERC errors

"no Supply for implicit POWER pin IC1P VCC which from the specs on the MAX232 IC seems to be referring to PIN 16 does this need to be connected to anything or can I ingone this error?

I am also getting NO power for Implicit power pin IC2P VDD which again from chip specs seems to be referring to pin 14 of the 4093 chip and also the same above error for IC2P VSS again referring to PIN 7 of the 4093 can I ignore these errors and are these pins not connected due to the external power supply?

Also with regards to the power supply does it have to be 16V and I use a lesser power supply like a 15 DC or a 13V DC supply?

Thanks in advance

kind regards

Hi Guys and gals,

dont worry about the Eagle errors I worked them out but my question on the voltage requirements of the DC power supply is still relevant can I use a 13Vdc or a 15DC supply also I am assuming that the current on the supply doesnt matter as the circuit will draw what it needs so I can used an over-speced current on the power supply.

Are these assumptions correct or am I making an ass out of myself by assuming.

Thanks again

Thanks for JDM advanced programmer. It is working fine. I have a problem in programming some pic device like 16F72,16f887... etc., Any body have any idea to add is device in winpic800. Thanks in advance.

in winpic800 you can not add device, but you can try winpic or olimax pic software for JDM

Thanks Fragrance for your quick reply. One more doubt, If winpic800 is vary with winpic? where I can find the link? Sorry to disturb you will you mind in giving the link to download winpic or olimax. Can we use the same programmer for olimax also?

Respected Fragrance Sir
I have tried your circuit and the device is not able to detect by software i have built the circuit in breadboard and all the connections are correctly connected. when i click check Hardware in winpic800 it says "Unknown Device"
I have measured the voltages on all the ic and transistors and it gives me the following Values
BC547
Collector=11.54v
Base=-8.25v
Emitter=0(as it is connected to gnd)
BC557
Collector=2.42v
Base=11.6v
Emitter=12.32v
CD4093
Pin No Voltage
1 -0.68v
2 -0.68v
3 4.98v
7 0(connected to gnd)
8 4.98
9 4.98
10 -0.05
11 4.98
12 -0.68
13 -0.68
14 4.98

IC MAX232
Pin No Voltage
1 -1.14
2 -.77
3 -2.26
4 -1.66
5 -3.29
6 -4.38
7 -1.78
8 -9.68
9 -.68
10 -.05
11 0(GND)
12 -.68
13 -9.65

ic 7805
Input 12.35v
output 5v(approx)

ic 7812
input 1.35v
output 12.35v

Please take a look and tell me where am i doing wrong
am waiting for your reply
Thanks in advance
