Hi Friends,

I am using a GSM Module SIM900A for my project. This Module Receives the 12V Supply from a 12v Lead Acid Battery. When i connect the battery, It responses as heat tremendously on the LM317T Regulator. After that the module got spoiled. Not working properly. Even i tried with 12v adaptor the same scenario was happened. Please Help me out.

Thank you..

Hi Seneda,
Actually SIM900A requires peak current up to 2~3A in certain conditions. That's why it is recommended to use a regulator that support higher currents. There are SIM900A modules those are coming with LM2576, which is not giving such problems.
