Is Median Filter a type of shift-invariant (time-invariant) system? Thanks.

Thanks. But, how can we model the Median Filter Impulse Response ( h([n]) as a mathematical function? I found that most reading materials on Median Filter are rather advance and not treating Median Filter at the most simplest way of explaining.

try this link for understanding what a median filter is

it is not a linear filter and therefore does not use convolution which
means that even if you have its impulse response(i don't know if it exists!) you won't be able
to apply usual signal processing techniques on it,moreover it is statistical
operator which come in general class of rank order statistics.
