Hi All,

Is it safe to Direct solder a standard CR2032 3V lithium cell without any special equipment, What happen to the internal Chemical formation. Otherwise if its posibble what is the maximum temprecture it can be worked.

They can certainly burst if heated to a high temperature. Using an ample of flux and performing the task quickly with low temperature solder would be advisable.

A more preferable solution would be to use a CR2032 cell with cold/contact or tack welded solder tabs to minimize the effects of soldering:

The heat of soldering is bound to injure a small battery like a coin cell. Its useful life will be reduced.

Consider using conductive silvery liquid. This is available in a pen applicator, or in epoxy form.
