Is it possible to send a constant stream at 30 Mbytes/s from PC's USB2.0 port to an external device?
USB 2.0 port is supposed to work in isochronous Fast mode + DMA Burst mode.

Hi.
If I were you,I will do this experiment:Copy a block of 600MB data from PC to a mobile-disk supported USB2.0,and record how long it takes. :)

Re: Is it possible: PC->USB external device at 30 Mbytes/

Theoritical HS bandwidth is 60MB/s but actual data bandwidth is lower - depending on associated packet overhead, propagation time, device response time and size of data payload.....

USB2.0 is a max of 480Mbps. At 8bits/byte, a stop and a start bit, you get 10bits/byte. That makes it a theoratical max of 48MBps. I think with all the protocol overhead of USB, it would be extremely difficult to get a steady 30MBps stream. If it were a simple serial port, then yes it was possible. with UB, my guess is that it is not possible.
