Hi all,

Is anyone here using ModelSim 5.6a (or ModelSim Altera 5.6a) ?
I have a few problems on running simulations.

My flexlm license.dat  does pass the checking at startup. However, it saids "# ** Error: Failure to obtain a VHDL simulation license." everytime I try to run the simulation.

Can anyone give me a hand on this ??
Any help is appreciated. :)

check for VSIM feature in your license

from 5.6, d@emon changed. u would get new l!c.

license too troublesome

Are you sure your flexlm license.dat pass the checking ?

Sometimes the kind of the license file can only give you
a small portion of rights.

It looks like a license error but ... I have to tell you something that I've learned from the experience : NEVER use the "a" version of Mentor programs - all of them are full of bugs .
It is better to wait to "b" versions .

I think the tool will be more stable after version C or D.
I have tried 5.8 but I changed back to 5.7d soon.

:(
