IRC channels for VHDL,Verilog, sim and synthesis

what about that we structure IRC live channels for ASIC design peers around.This would be so helpful in knowledge share between all of us.
I suggest to use the irc.freenode.net server and make many channels by topic :

vhdl
verilog
asic

and as many channels by topic ....

i need your feed back my friends ...
also i 'd like to tell u that I'm a founder of open source Hardware IP cores organization like opencores, we need active peers to contribute with us.Many projects are waiting there

It could potentially be a good idea, but you would need a lot of people for that to work.

The problem I see is people might always be asking the same questions since you can't "search for previous information" like you can in a forum like this one.

If you go forward, one nice thing to have in the channel would be a file server that could provide a FAQ and some basic books and tutorials.
