verilog irc

what about that we structure IRC live channels for ASIC design peers around. This would be so helpful in knowledge share between all of us.
I suggest to use the irc.freenode.net server and make many channels by topic :

vhdl
verilog
asic

and as many channels by topic ....

i need your feed back my friends ...
also i 'd like to tell u that I'm a founder of open source Hardware IP cores organization like opencores, we need active peers to contribute with us.Many projects are waiting there

Great Idea. I think IRC would be a better place to exchange information.

irc verilog

It could potentially be a good idea, but you would need a lot of people for that to work.

The problem I see is people might always be asking the same questions since you can't "search for previous information" like you can in a forum like this one.

If you go forward, one nice thing to have in the channel would be a file server that could provide a FAQ and some basic books and tutorials.
