We're trying to run a refrigerator by using inverters. At first we observed what is happening on the relay when the refrigerator is plugged at the outlet. It clicks and then the refrigerator starts(vibrations and sounds coming out from the compressor). THen we tried using the relay to with our circuit. The relay ticks then the compressor started running, but after 1-2 seconds the relay started ticking fast then our power supply shorted destroying our IR2113. could someone point to us the cause of this short circuit?

What is 'aux' winding? If it is for starting and/or phase lead then all you will have by modulating it is excessive current in main winding.

we measured the current from the output of the inverter to the run terminal, it was only 0.052A max. where in normal operations(plugged to the outlet) the current is around 0.5A, how can we generate more current for the ref to run in normal conditions?

Post the diagram of the original stock refrig compressor connections.

I think you will find the actual peak switched currents in the devices quite a bit larger than you think - especially during a compressor start - what sort of heatsinking have you got on your igbt's ? - Regards, Orson Cart.
