Hi, I was trying to mimic a remote control using a microcontroller and an Infrared emitter. I've been trying to capture the specific remote control signals using an oscilloscope and an IR detector, and then outputting them on my emitter, but that hasn't been working so far.

I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

you want the remote to read same data or you want to build your own tx rx system?

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Basically, I just need to build the transmitting part. The receiving unit will be a dvd player.

Sorry, I'm not very good at reading circuit diagrams. There are three LED's in series right? But the rest I'm not too sure about. If you could explain it, that would be great.

codes transmitted from IR-controls is not standardized: every manufacturer have its own - although there exists quasi-standards ones

Now you need to read the sent signal then save it on the pic of your new tx right?
