Hi,
I'm building an inverter circuit as part of a project I'm doing at college. I'm using PWM to control the inverter switches and eliminate low order harmonics. Does anyone know what type of output filter (passive or active) I need to build to get a quasi-sinusoidal or sinusoidal output?

If your making quasi-sinusoidal, switching is 60hz and output is stepped. This is the basic characteristic of this style of inverter.

Sinusoidal output types are usually some type of LC filter.
