How the effect of intersymbol interference is reduced in a communication system designed for a multipath channel
 

by increasing the signal bandwidh much high than channel bandwidh.
 

the multi path propagation channel have what so called " Delay Spread Profile" it is in order of few micro sec in dense urban areas , the bit time should be greater than the delay spread of the channel to avoid ISI
